I’m looking down into an empty creek bed

The wind through the trees sounds like water running

I visualize what it might look like in another month

Water will be flowing; there will be frogs and salamanders too

A little boy could find so much to do

Wet and dirty he would be, but for a little while

His life and mind are completely free

His curiosity and imagination running at high speed

The action of it all, innocent and so pure

Wish I had that time and energy to explore

But now all I do is remember how used to be
